EAST MACS TRAVERSE PACKAGES

A vehicle transfer to/from Trephina Gorge. You can nominate whether this is your pickup or drop off point.

• Town pickups and drop offs: We pick you up or drop you off from/to your respective accommodation point but it must be within a 5km radius of Alice Springs CBD.  

• Trephina Gorge pickups and drop offs: We pick you up or drop you off to/from Trephina Gorge carpark 

KEY POINTS FOR THE TRANSFERS

• Morning Drop Off to Trephina Gorge

• Depart Alice Springs: 7:00am -7:30am

• Arrive to Trephina Gorge at approx 8:00am - 8:30am

• Afternoon Pick Up from Trephina Gorge

• Depart Standley Chasm: 3pm

• Arrive Alice Springs: Approx 4pm - 4:30pm

Package includes five resupply caches at five pre-designated locations along the traverse. Cache locations are at national park/conservation areas and cattle station properties.

• Five cache resupplies ( for food and water)

• Caches are ASC's (above surface cache)

• We provide the storage/ cache containers. No BYO

• GPS Cache Points and Field Cache maps provided

You will be provided with standard 50lt tubs or containers (General Plastic Storage Containers) for your food drop.  You can order more containers at extra cost. Generally, 1x50lt is more than sufficient for up to 2 hikers for each food drop. Troika's have 2x50lt containers allocated for each food drop.

Your empty food container will be delivered to your nominated accommodation. Containers are normally dropped off at the Reception storerooms a day before your trek starts or at an agreed date and time.  An SMS will be sent to your nominated mobile phone when delivery has been completed.

Your packed food container will be collected from your nominated accommodation. Containers are normally collected the day you start your trek or at an agreed date and time.  An SMS will be sent to your nominated mobile phone when the collection has been completed.
